Bungled Foreign Policy

Iraq is the worst foreign policy blunder in our history. The "war on terror" became a catchall phrase for our rightwing regime to wage war at the wrong place for the wrong reasons. By driving fear into our uninformed population, and silencing critics, our incompetent Misleaders foolishly re-directed efforts from the real war on terror in Afghanistan, and other hostile places such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to execute their neo-conservative agenda. The arrogant neoconservative cabal refused to listen to sound advice and rushed into a war that turned out to be a quagmire exactly as predicted. (allegedly to overthrow a tyrant we supported, armed and helped when he fought Iran).

Iraq did not have an Al-Qaeda or Islamic radical presence previously, now actually it has been eviscerated and dominated by religious extremists and terrorists ; and it galvanizes millions of moderates sympathetic to their cause even in secular democratic nations. A bungled occupation that violated international laws has left us more isolated and vulnerable than before; the world is a lot more unstable than before; man regional actors threaten to intervene on the side of the different factions in Iraq (or to move against them, as Turkey has warned).

There is a steep increase in the number of willing recruits wishing us harm because of the way we misdirected the war on terror by invading Iraq. Yet, withdrawal is not an option; We cannot stop the infinite loop; and will suffer for a long time more.
