Our fight with Iran in perspective
After 9/11, there were spontaneous pro-US candle-light vigils in Iran attended by thousands. Our neo-con regime, refused to engage in direct talks with the previous moderate Khatami regime. It refused to address legitimate Iranian concerns including their right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy, after having encouraged and sold all the nuclear technology they wanted during the autocratic Shah’s regime; they fear American intentions because of the Iraqi invasion.
Iran’s current President (elected in democratic elections like Bush was in 2004) expressed some horrible statements towards Israel. US should sign a defense pact with Israel and make it unequivocally that If Israel is attacked with nuclear weapons,) that it will retaliate swiftly to defend Israel using the same weapons. We must say it openly and clearly; but will Bush/Condi have the courage to talk straight lest we upset all the degenerate feudal Israel hating Arab Oil allies, who do not recognize Israel?
Without an unequivocal message of nuclear retaliation, we will end up like the pre Gulf-War-1 situation where Saddam did not get a clear message before invading Kuwait. USA must also talk directly to Syria and Iran; it cannot be so lopsided in its policy towards the crux of it all-The Palestinian crisis.
We lost the last bit of our credibility in Lebanon.
US dominated Iran from 1953 to 1979 because of Oil. We overthrew an elected government and installed a puppet Shah. When the Shah was overthrown in 1979 by a popular Mullah led revolution, we gave him shelter. That lead to the Embassy Hostage crisis, because Iran demanded that the Shah be handed to them for CRIMES AGAINST IRANIAN PEOPLE. So what did we do? REFUSE.. That was why there was a Hostage crisis.
Then an American warship illegally in Iranian terroritorial waters accidentally shot down an Iran-Air civilian aircraft in 1988. The morally superior self-righteous "us" claimed it was an accident. Sure it may have been. But what the fuck were we doing in their territorial waters and how come Bush Senior Refused to even apologise?

SHit lord dear and then a US WARSHIP does the same and this time when we were pissing in THEIR terroritory and George H W Bush refused to apologize. WE demanded that the Soviets Apologise... WHY do we sound so hypocritical? Afterall with KAL007 IT WAS OVER RUSSIAN territory and IT WAS violating their strategic space. EGG ON OUR FACE COMRADES EGGS and shell and all. Why? US aided, abetted and even supplied chemical weapons components to Saddam's Iraq during his war with Iran in the 1980s. That war cost killed more in conventional warfare than any other war since WW-II. We gave Saddam military intelligence reports and supplied him trucks and other dual purpose materiel. We supplied him components to his chemical weapons program. REPUBLICANS BLOCKED A UN vote condemning Saddam that was introduced to the floor of the US General Assembly by Iran for atrocities. GOD HELP You ignorant fuckasses.
