Friday thoughts dedicated to IAN AND NICK my students serving or going to serve again
Hey guys: Have we all thought about all those patriots who tell you "I thought about joining; I almost joined" by the pseudo patriots who are not going to fight or die?.
I heard Nick .... also got his orders to go. Is that right?
I "almost joined" too in 1991 with a friend of mine. We went to the Army office in Baxter Square in Athens GA, and they said F-1 students were not eligible at that time...Of course our motives at that point was to get a greencard fast by joining.!! I thought I could serve in Kuwait in a Mess unit because I was a good cook and my buddy who has 3 US chemical patents now, and is a senior scientist, could have served in the chemical weapons section.
I am sure those great patriots in our school will soon join when there is a draft. Right now, I can't wait for W and Cheney to do their patriotic duty and bring back the draft. I want them to come around to the Business Schools in the USA, and round up all the Patriotic "lets kick some arab ass" Republican students and the ones who keep saying "I would go fight too and freedom is gift from god" in false bravado.
Guess what will happen?? You will then see this war ending really really fast. I think they should start by drafting people on income basis with the sons and daughters of the richest 2% going first to Anbar and then to Tikrit. This will be the LONGEST war we have fought without a draft by Spring break. (validate this statement and correct me if I am wrong)
I really admire patriots of Rush Limbaugh's calibre. A SW Missouri U Drop Out who is a mega millionaire anti tax pro war patriot; he is really to be admired for the American way of life.
He is very supportive of the all volunteer army that "happens" to have sacrificed mostly the kids of the lower income groups. He really is a patriot. He is so patriotic and pro War I wish those liberal sissies would be patriotic like he is, and fight bravely like he does over his radio in Iraq. He really puts himself on line everyday when he flies in that Chinook or gets into that Stryker over his radio. Gosh Cheney and Bush should give him the freedom medal.
True, he is thrice divorced(but that was only a vow in Church he took three times and it is not sacrilege right?), but we should not hold it against him. He probably took too many prescription pain killers and that gave him a noodle that was not quite stern, or it maybe the 6pack of hotdogs and 3 pies he had to devour each day to keep his svelte figure, but in the world of compassionate conservatives we should not judge him though he is thrice divorced or a drug addict. We know all that will be "forgiven" by God. We immoral liberal losers should not gang up on him. He is a really brave man.

Cheney did not serve in Vietnam; W did not; Rummy did not; Condi did not; Wolfowitz did not; Feith did not; Libby did not; Perle did not; and Limbaugh most certainly would have (if not for his pimple in the butt excuse) like a lot of brave folks in our building who "would have" and "almost did" or "almost volunteered". Oddly some who talk and defend the quagmire "forgot" to serve in Vietnam when it was their turn and they were eligible!(like Clinton too)..
I can't find enough Made In China Walmart American Flags to give these College Republican patriots these days to wave as my students go to fight because they have a conscience and they are willing to go where Jenna and Barb won't and W and Cheney didn't when they had a chance.
